Alone again, naturally

LADY JUST BEFORE HALLOWEEN
I always feel like a daddy when I take Lady to the groomer. This morning, I dropped her off, and she turned and tried to follow me out the door. Then the groomer took her away.

Even with Scottie here — he's asleep — it'll be lonely until I pick her up in the afternoon.

After I picked Lady up at the groomer (she was wearing her orange Halloween kerchief), I took her to the dog park for a half hour or so. A big black lab mix tried hard to get her to play, but she let him know in no uncertain terms that she wasn't interested.

She quickly lay down, so we didn't stay long. We're home, and Lady's on "her" cot. Scottie's dozing in his crate.

It's early June, and Lady's going to the groomer today. Scottie's no longer with us — his ashes are on the mantle — so today will be really lonely.
