Dixie's scent was there

DIXIE'S SCENT IS ON ME.
I was at Covington Park the other day, putting cans and bottles in the recycle bin.

A family was walking an old dog (black with a white muzzle) that suddenly turned and started walking toward me. It was wearing a doggie smile.

The woman stopped it, puzzled why it would come toward me. I told her that the dog probably could smell Dixie's scent and that my dog Dixie is a beagle.

"Is she in the car?" the woman asked. I said no; she's home. But the black dog probably detected her scent on me and perhaps in the car.

We chatted a moment more, and they went on.
