DIXIE ON THE EDGE OF THE DECK |
I was surprised today when I let Dixie out on her line. When I went out to get her, I heard a low and consistent growl emanating from near the deck railing. Dixie was intent on something in the backyard.
I scanned the yard and noticed a tiny mostly-white cat sitting under a bush near our shed. Dixie kept growling, but the cat never budged.
I had to grab her line and literally drag her back to the screen door. She kept looking back to the cat until we reached the door; when I opened it, she ran right in.
Why do I mention it? It's only the second time I've heard Dixie growl in more than three years. A black cat was involved that time.
