YEARS AGO, my dog Lady and I were at the local dog park, and the recreation people had put up yellow tape to protect areas of straw (and the grass seed under them). I don't remember what was on the tape, but the signs said "KEEP OUT!"
Dogs, naturally, went under the tape. One woman was trying to get her dog out of the KEEP OUT area, and I tried to gently tell her that it was OK for dogs to be in there. Dogs can't read, and the rec folks wanted humans out of the no-fly zones.
I don't think she was embarrassed (I hope she wasn't). She was just trying to be helpful, and she didn't think before she spoke.
