Cat on the deck

DIXIE AND ME
Just now, I took Dixie out so she could "do her business."

She immediately headed toward a dark blob in the left-front corner of the deck. I couldn't tell what the blob was until it said "meow." It was the mostly black cat (with some white on its belly) that we've encountered before.

Dixie moved toward the cat, but I pulled her away. We don't want vet bills for stray claw marks.

The weird thing is that the cat just lay there casually. It never moved a muscle that I could tell.

Dixie went into the grass and did what she needed to do; and I brought her inside.

I looked back, and the cat was still sprawled there.

The other day, I walked onto the carport and saw a white streak going past the carport at high warp speed. I have to assume it was a white cat that I have seen in a neighbor's yard.

A visitor in my room

DIXIE AND ME
I was just watching a Miami Dolphin video on my laptop, and I heard a snort inside my bedroom.

I looked up and saw that the bedroom door was ajar. So I looked down and noticed Dixie sitting on the carpet, waiting for me to notice her.

So I got up, opened the door, let her out and came back to the computer.

I didn't mind her coming into my room. Maybe she was lonely. Our last dog, Lady, often came into my room. I'd be laying on my back, with my hand off the bed, and I'd feel a wet nose, warm tongue or fuzzy ears. And a doggy smile.

Dixie just isn't as adventurous as Lady was.
