Going to the vet's office

We went to the vet today, and Lady didn't enjoy being probed and prodded. She did lick the chin of the young man who was holding her on the table (I was jealous, of course), but she often licks people who get close.

Her heart rate was slow (I don't know how slow; they didn't say), but her blood work was good. It was a decent result with a 15-year-old dog.

They had three cats in the vet's office. The two females on the desk ignored me, but the big tom cat came over and was friendly. He rubbed over my legs and let me pet him. He'd never done that before, but Lady was having her blood taken at this point, so she wasn't around.

Note: Lady passed on Sept. 17, 2016.

Happy 15th birthday, Lady!

LADY FROM ABOUT 2013...
Since we got our Lady on Oct. 1, 2002, we count Oct. 1 her birthday. She's been with us 13 years today, and we figure she's 15 years old.

I told her that today is her unofficial birthday, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in yet. She's having an ordinary day so far; right now, she's lying in her normal spot, on the floor near my left foot.

We had a quiet trip to the dog park this morning. We were alone on the little-dog side, and Lady looked through the fence when dogs came near. There might have been as many as eight dogs at a time on the big-dog side.

When it began drizzling, we came home. She had no trouble getting into the car, and away we went.

Happy birthday, darlin'!

P.S.: She did get a special treat on her birthday, a pork chop biscuit from Bojangles.

Note: If Lady makes it to Oct. 1, 2016, she'll unofficially be 16 years old.

Note: Lady passed on Sept. 17, 2016, two weeks short of her unofficial 16th birthday.
