| LADY AND ME |
Lady and I were trying to keep each other safe.
It was after dark about 15 years ago, and Lady and I were walking down the lane toward the house that Holly, Lady and I shared. We passed a yard where they kept a yellow dog chained up to a tree 24/7.
I felt bad for that dog, but I didn't trust it. It was being mistreated, and it was NOT a friendly dog.
Then I noticed no dog beside the tree!
I turned to my right and saw the yellow dog coming for us. I tried to get in front of Lady to protect her, but there was a problem. We were dancing around each other.
Lady was trying to get in front of me and protect me, too. In fact, she was in front of me when the dog reached us.
I didn't have anything to throw, so I growled at the dog. It tried to growl back, but it came out weakly. You could tell its heart wasn't in it. After a few more growls from me, the dog disappeared into the night, and we went home.
Animal Control picked up the dog soon afterward, but I hadn't called them.
