Lady was a playing-in-the-snow kind of dog

LADY SNIFFS AROUND IN FRESH SNOW.
Lady was maybe two years old when we got her in 2002, and we soon had a snow storm. I let Lady out in the backyard and looked out the window.

I was amazed at Lady's antics.

If you look out our kitchen window, our yard has an obvious slope from upper left to lower right. Lady went to the top, got a running start and slid on her butt to the bottom. After "crashing" into the fence to my right, she jumped up, shook herself off and ran to the top of the slope. Then she did it again and again.

Later, she charged through the basement door, beaming with happiness and sopping wet. I took her into the bathroom and toweled her off. Then she found a corner and curled up for a well-earned nap; maybe she dreamt of snow.

Lady looks like a sled dog (see above photo), and it's obvious she's a snow dog.

P.S.: We had snow last night, but Lady didn't get to play in it. Most of the snow was melted by morning, and the ground was soggy. I wasn't going to let her play in the mud.

P.P.S.: We had ice yesterday, but I haven't let Lady out in it. It's still icy today, and she hasn't seemed interested.

P.P.S.: It snowed again last night (Feb. 2, 2013), and I'll probably take Lady out today. The roads are clean, but there's plenty of snow out there.

P.P.S. (Feb. 12, 2014): We had a snow storm today, followed by sleet. I imagine Lady will want to go into the backyard tomorrow.

P.P.S. (Feb. 22, 2015): We've had snow on the ground the last four days, but I haven't been able to walk her in it.

NOTE: Lady passed on Sept. 17; no more snow for her.
