Lady plowing into the wall

LADY AT REST
Right after we got Lady in 2002, she started charging down the basement stairs so she could go outside.

One day, I heard feet hurrying down the stairs, a slight thump and then WHAM! I was standing near the door, so I looked. Lady had run into the wall at the bottom of the stairs at full speed. She got up slowly and shook it off.

Then she walked away as though nothing had happened. "I meant to do that," she seemed to say.

Later, I checked her head and found a bump but no blood. She'd obviously hit her least vulnerable spot.

Since then, she's gone down the steps at a more sedate speed. So she learned.

NOTE: Lady passed on Sept. 17, 2016, two weeks short of her unofficial birthday (the day we got her in 2002).
