Trimming Dixie's toenails

I HELD DIXIE CLOSE.
I HELD DIXIE IN MY ARMS tonight while Holly cut her toenails.

That sounds like it wouldn't be a big deal, but Dixie hadn't had her nails trimmed in a good while. So it was more work than it normally would be, and it probably hurt worse than it should have.

Dixie quivered the whole time, but she didn't cry out at any point.

When we put her back down on the floor, she danced with happiness. So we gave her a few Charlee Bear treats that pleased her even more.

With luck (and planning), we won't wait so long next time to cut her nails. It shouldn't be THAT hard; she is a three-legged beagle, after all.
