Dixie encountering the trash truck

WE WERE AT THE DOG PARK
Dixie got a dose of the trash truck today when we took our morning walk down the lane. She'd never before seen or heard the trash truck, and the beeps, crashes, slams and other sounds unsettled (scared?) her.

I had to hold her back, as she seemed to want to protect me from the truck. Still, it was obvious that she was scared of it.

She looked that way long after the truck was out of sight; she could still hear it, of course.

It reminded me of the first time Lady (now deceased) met the trash truck in 2013.

Still, I have to admit that Lady's reaction was much stronger. She reacted to trucks, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, lawnmowers, weed whackers and more. And she pulled violently toward them.
