A neighbor's dog in our yard

DIXIE AND ME

An hour or two ago, it was dark when I took Dixie out so she could "do her business."

She had just finished and was fooling around on the deck. Then we heard a dog barking in a neighbor's yard, and I immediately realized it was loose.

I pulled her back to the door as I noticed that the dog's bark was getting closer. The dog was in our yard when I finally got Dixie in the house and closed the door.

Outside, the dog was still barking.

No, it wasn't a close call, but I was happy we didn't have to deal with it up close and personal.
