Dogs for seniors (or not)

I didn't think about it

when we first saw Dixie. I later realized that this three-legged beagle is perfect for a senior citizen.

She can't pull powerfully as Lady (passed in 2016) did. Even when Lady was a senior pooch, she could still pull away from you, or she could drag you down.

Dixie can't do that. She pulls, of course, but she's less of a danger.

And while Lady was always looking for something to do, Dixie is lazy and sleeps most of the time. So she's a perfect companion for a 60- or 70-something person.
