Woof! (needs no translation)

LADY, FROM HER YOUNGER DAYS...
I was so proud of Lady one day in early 2016. We were at the dog park, and this big, young German shepherd was determined to get her to play. By then, though, she was an old dog and didn't want any part of him.

So she woofed at him on at least two occasions. The second time, he got the message, and he finally left her alone.

She seemed to be saying: Go away, kid; you bother me.

Good girl; GOOD girl.

Another time, Lady was in the middle of the big-dog side, and a young dog tried to get her to play. She woofed loudly, and I said LADY! The young dog's owner, in a huff, said that wasn't ladylike behavior. He stormed out of the gate and slammed it so hard that he broke the latch.

They didn't fix the latch until the next day (I told the rec guy that it was broken). That was definitely NOT gentlemanly behavior.

NOTE: Lady passed on Sept. 17, 2016, and I'm still recovering.
