Getting out of the yard

DIXIE GETS OUT OF THE YARD...
The other day, my wife Holly told me that Dixie had gotten out of the backyard. She went outside to bring Dixie in the house, and our beagle was sitting on the welcome mat, waiting for Holly to get her.

Holly immediately guessed that Dixie got through the fence somewhere, but that wasn't it. When we were coming back from a shopping trip, I noticed that the back gate was wide open. The gate was closed after the backyard was mowed, but it's obvious the gate popped open later.

Now, we have to be more vigilant after the yard is mowed.

At least Dixie had the good sense to wait near the door.
